MURAL FESTIVALS
For over a decade I’ve been enamored by the beauty of street art. This led me to seek them out in places I visited. In 2017, my husband Ian and I had the opportunity to photograph the inaugural POW! WOW! San Jose, now called San Jose Walls and we were thrilled! We had been following along and dreaming about photographing for POW! WOW! Hawaii and when we heard they were coming to our hometown, we were so excited! That festival became a launch pad for us as we’ve gone around the country and different parts of the world to document the progress of mural festivals.
It is so amazing to be able to document the progress of the artists throughout the week. I am so lucky to be able to meet artists who have become friends as I get to know them and their stories while I photograph them. Throughout the years, it’s been amazing to see friends in different cities and meet new ones.
